After gaining admission to the federal poly ado Ekiti, another criterion to put into consideration after admission is accommodation thus there is a need to ask this question; Hostel, ABA or town which of these is suitable and the best for student accommodation? Actually, all the three options are good depending on your choice and capacity.

This Article is meant to guide the newly admitted students that will be receiving lectures at the main campus and satellite campus on the best place to seek for accommodation among the three options: HOSTEL, ABA and Town.

Federal polytechnic Ado-Ekiti Run two Programme; FULL-TIME(Morning) And Part Time (Evening) Programme of which both are same, and the major differences is school fees and location.

Full Time students receive lectures at the main campus while part time (Evening) students Receive lectures at the satellite campus otherwise known as the Continuing Education center (CEC). Some Evening departments in school of science and engineering also received lectures at the main campus.

Satellite campus is a campus for students offered admission into part-Time (Evening) programme. The campus is located along Bola Ige off NTA Road in Ado Ekiti. Students offered admission into evening programme like school of Business will need to seek accommodation near the school (CEC) around Fabian, Falegan, Delight, Egbewa, Ekute, Ola Oluwa, Abe-koko, Ilawe road.

Part-Time(Evening) students are not Eligible to apply for hostel accommodation but they can seek for accommodation into the previously aforementioned location; Ilawe road or NTA road).

The Best accommodation system for CEC Students receiving lectures at satellite campus is at Ilawe road or NTA road as these places is trekkable and it’s about 30 minutes or 15 minutes’ walk to the satellite campus depending on the exact location.

How much is Accommodation system around satellite campus? Accommodation around satellite campus which is along NTA road and Ilawe Road ranges from #24,000 to #35,000 while self-Contain ranges from #70,000 to #120,000 depending on your negotiation skill.

Where should Part-Time students receiving lectures at the main campus seek Accommodation? We recommend that Part time(Evening) students receiving lectures at the main campus seek accommodation in town, that is, middle belt which is around Poly junction, Irona or Matthew.

1. SCHOOL HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION: School hostel is an accommodation system that is managed by the school management to accommodate full time(Morning) students at all levels. Those who are eligible to apply for hostel are majorly FULL TIME(Morning) students. Federal polytechnic Ado Ekiti have three hostels which are the POPULAR ABUJA hostel for males, Lagos hostel for dignified ladies and Annex for ladies and gentlemen. The school hostel is the cheapest among all others accommodation in the polytechnic as the cost for bed space per session is #10,000 only.

ADO POLY LAGOS HOSTEL

Apart from the fact that the school hostel is the cheapest, Students residing in the school hostel; ABUJA, LAGOS and ANNEX enjoy free electricity. There is no need to pay for electricity bills while living in the school hostel. Students also have access to quick information; you also get to lecture room on time as the distance from school hostel to lecture room isn’t far and there are some situations that happens in school in which the hall residence will be aware before it gets to ABA or town which makes the school hostel best accommodation system.

DISADVANTAGES OF FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ADO HOSTEL:

Students have no Freedom; there are too many rules guiding the school hostel hence you have no freedom and authority over your freedom. You May lose your belongings to theft. We’ve received reports of students losing Their phones, laptops and gadgets in the school hostel.

2. ABA ACCOMMODATION SYSTEM

Aba Erunfun is the community hosting the federal polytechnic Ado Ekiti. This is one of the best accommodation systems for full time students because of its closeness to the school. Rooms in ABA-Erinfun varies, Single Rooms Ranges from #50,000 to #65,000 per session while self-contain ranges from #120,000 and above per session.

The disadvantage of ABA Erunfin accommodation system is that the community doesn’t enjoy constant power supply, standard of living there is high as a commodity sold for #50 in town is doubled price in ABA Erunfun. The accommodation is costly. Imagine paying 60k per session for a single room Where you can also get a single room for just 24k in Town.

3. TOWN ACCOMMODATION SYSTEM

This is an off-campus accommodation system, some of the popular Town accommodation are POLY junction, Mathew, NNPC, odo Ado, Irona etc. Town is also one of the best accommodation system because it is cheap and standard of living there is affordable compared to school hostel and ABA Erunfun.

Accommodation ranges between 25k and 40k in Town and NEPA bill doesn’t exceed #1,000 or #1,500 per month. You also enjoy constant power supply in town. The disadvantage of staying in Town is that it is stressful, you struggle to catch-up with school bus every day when you have lectures, and the cost from and to the polytechnic cost about #300/day.
