A tragic incident in Ogun State has left four people dead after a high-speed car race between two students of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Sapade (GAPOSA), ended in a devastating crash.
Eyewitnesses say the students had reportedly staked a ₦30,000 bet, promising the cash prize to whoever emerged victorious. The friendly challenge turned fatal when both drivers lost control of their vehicles and rammed into a roadside shop at a garage.
One occupant from each car died instantly, while another was critically injured and rushed to a hospital. The collision also killed two people who were inside the shop at the time. Several properties were destroyed in the crash, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
Police and emergency responders were called to the scene, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
