Proprietor, Director Strategic Planning, Dean , Others Charge Students On Talent Discovery
The Students of Lens Polytechnic Offa Kwara State have showcased their exceptional abilities and inborn talents at the Talent Hunt event organised by Department of Mass Communication on 8 May 2025.
The event held at the Polytechnic Main Campus, serves as an avenue for students to display their unique gifts capable of shaping their career paths in the creative industry.
While declaring the event open, the Dean School of Art and Information, Mrs. Kehinde Adeniran welcomed the management staff and students. She reminded the students of their unique feature which can be utilise to be successful in life.
According to her “Talent is actually an avenue where students showcase different talents and skills. As we all know, we have one unique talent or the other that God deposited in each of us. An opportunity to display it is what makes us known for that particular talent.”
She added that talent display will help the students to standout in the society.
“You will learn a lot today. Be ready to learn, be ready to sing, be ready to dance, be ready to shine. All these might be what will open doors for you today,” she stated.
Earlier in their separate remarks, the Proprietor, Dr. Azeez Yisa FCA applauded the students for their wonderful performances. He noted that the institution equips students academically and scouts talents for self-sustainability and reliance.
Speaking further, the Proprietor emphasized that a talent show is part of the social adventure that allows students to discover themselves and what they can offer the society. He therefore admonished students at all levels to be innovative, productive and identify their talents as important factor that leads to a successful future.
The Director of Strategic Planning and Dean, School of Business, Mr. Fatai Azeez commended the impressive display of the students and lauded mass communication department for organising the event. He noted that talented people who are utilising it accordingly are making waves in the creative industry. He advised the students with exceptional abilities to be bold and courageous to always display their talents.
On his part, the Head of Department of Mass Communication and the host of the event, Mr. Lukman Adedimeji appreciated the management and staff members for necessary support and adding splendor to the event with their presence. He lauded the students for intriguing performance and commitment.
The event activities include: fashion show, cultural display, spelling bee competition, upcoming and artistes’ rendition among others.
Other management staff present were: The Polytechnic Registrar, Mr. Hammed Sarafa Olalekan, Chief Compliance Officer, Mr. Nasif Gbolahan, Polytechnic Bursar, Mrs. Sekinat Azeez, Dean of Students’ Affairs Mrs Mujeedat Bammeke Oladipo, Chief Examination Officer, Mr. Adetunji MUBARAK among others.
