Stay Away From Edo State Polytechnic – NAPS Tells Students

The Student leaders under the aegis of the National Association of polytechnic students (NAPS), has called the attention of the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) over the unaccredited programmes offered at Edo State Polytechnic usen.
The association lamented that HND graduates of the institution are unable to partake in NYSC because of the accreditation issues.
Comrade Adeniji Boluwaji, NAPS Deputy senate president, warned students and the general public to stay away from the polytechnic especially their HND programmes until the school management do the needful by ensuring that all their courses are accredited.
“The Senate arm of National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) is using this medium to call the attention of Executive Secretary of NBTE, all stakeholders in Polytechnic Education sector in Nigeria to the issue of unaccredited courses offering in Edo State Polytechnic Usen, Benin, Edo State which the school is known as Edo State Institute of Technology and Management Usen by The National Board for Technical Education, to avoid unnecessary violence and crisis from the Students of the aforementioned Institution….

“The Senate arm of National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) got to know that the school has been running some unaccredited Courses for Higher National Diploma(HND) for the past years and as denied many students from partaking in the NYSC Program which this was brought to the attention of the NAPS Senate arm and all efforts to resolve this issue has not been accepted by the Dean Students Affairs of the school in person of Engr. Osagie Kingsley Edobor, he hasn’t shown any sign of good Leadership.”
“We are calling the general public to stay away from obtaining Higher National Diploma courses from Edo State Polytechnic Usen Benin Edo State for now, until the uncredited Courses are proper been accredited by the National Board for Technical Education(NBTE) and National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has evidence that the right thing has been done.”
