KolaDaisi varsity gets approval for nursing programme
The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has approved the commencement of the nursing programme at the KolaDaisi University in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Adeniyi Olatunbosun, announced this at the convocation press conference held at the institution’s Senate Chamber in Ibadan, the state capital, on Friday.
He also said about 156 students who have been found worthy in learning and character will be awarded various degrees in their respective courses, with 20 of them bagging First Class.
Olatunbosun said, “The National Universities Commission had earlier given its approval for the commencement of courses in the Faculty of Basic Medical Science and the courses.
“Based on the level of the university’s performance, the council graciously approved an annual intake of 100 students for our Department of Nursing Science.”
Olatunbosun, therefore, appreciated both the Nigeria Police and Amotekun Corps for their continuous assistance to the university.
“We are grateful for the constant support of Amotekun, with a special note of appreciation to the government of Oyo State for ensuring round-the-clock security coverage of the university.
“Our appreciation also goes to the Nigerian Military, Second Mechanised Division for being there for us.”
The VC explained that despite the challenges being faced by many higher institutions in Nigeria, especially the private ones, the school has moved on an impressive note, revelling in the joy of sustaining the global best practices across the operations.
