Jubilation as Federal Polytechnic Nekede Gets NBTE Nod to Establish School of Health Technology

There was wild jubilation among students of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede (FPNO) following the approval of the school by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to establish the School of Health and Technology.
According to the information gathered, the school will offer National Diploma (ND) programs in Dispensing Opticianry; and
Pharmaceutical Technology with effect from the 2023/2024 academic session.
The school management, while briefing POLYTV, added that efforts are ongoing to add three (3) more departments to the existing programs. The departments are Dental Technology, Public Nursing Technology, and Environmental Health Technology.
Some of the students who spoke with POLYTV about the new School of Health described it as a welcome development for IMO state and Nigeria at large.
A student who identified himself as Chuks said, “This is a welcome development; I wish the school had been established years ago.”
Reacting to the latest development, the polytechnic registrar said:
“The present administration is poised to sustain the vision of our institution as a pacesetter in demand-driven technology and innovations as well as a producer of job creators for the global economy.”
“We are not in doubt about the great role the establishment of the School of Health and Related Technology would play in the health and general well-being of the Polytechnic Community.”
