IMAP Sends Off Retired Staff Members

The Acting Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic, Lafia, Dr. Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata, Tuesday, extolled the invaluable contributions of three academic staff members of the institution who have retired from the service of the Polytechnic.
Dr. Maifata expressed gratitude to the School of Science and Technology for organizing the send-off programme, highlighting the importance of celebrating the retirees’ contributions.
He stated this while speaking at the send-off event organised by the School of Science and Technology in Lafia to bid farewell to the hardworking trio who had given their best with dexterity and dedication while in service.
Represented by the Dean of the School, Mr. Dennis Yakubu, the Acting Rector encouraged the Polytechnic community to emulate the retirees’ exemplary behaviours by upholding highest standards of integrity and shunning ill practices.
He added that the institution will bid farewell to over ten staff members who will be retiring this year, adding that the Polytechnic will hold a special workshop to mark their retirement in order to share their knowledge and experiences with the upcoming ones for optimal productivity.
In a paper presentation, Abegye Yakubu advised staff to prepare ahead of their retirement, insisting that retirement is a new stage of life that needs preparedness to fully surmount its imminent challenges.
The retired staff members included David Beyiokun Ola and David Affor from Science Laboratory Technology Department and David Madakison from Hospitality Management Department.
Awards and goodwill messages also featured prominently during the send-off event as the celebrants jointly appreciated their colleagues for organising the valedictory session for them.
The send-off event had in attendance many staff members of the institution including the Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Mukhtar Wakeel and the Head of Department (Science Laboratory Technology), Dr. Daniel Ashefo.
