FEDPOLY OFFA SUG HOLDS INAUGURAL MEETING WITH MANAGEMENT, PRESENTS STUDENTS’ DEMANDS
The meeting, which took place on Thursday, was led by the SUG President, Comrade Abdulazeez Majeed Olanrewaju, and attended by top management officials of the polytechnic.

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, has held its first official meeting with the institution’s management to discuss key issues affecting students and propose meaningful solutions for a better academic environment.
The meeting, which took place on Thursday, was led by the SUG President, Comrade Abdulazeez Majeed Olanrewaju, and attended by top management officials of the polytechnic.
According to a statement released by the Office of the SUG Public Relations Officer, the engagement was productive and centered on improving students’ welfare, campus safety, and academic stability.
During the meeting, the SUG president tabled several important requests on behalf of the student body, including:
- Strengthening security measures across the campus to ensure the safety of all students.
- Maintaining an uninterrupted academic calendar for smooth and consistent learning activities.
- Advocating for a 50% reduction in tuition fees or the maintenance of the current stable fee structure without additional charges.
- Ensuring mobilization for NYSC for all eligible graduating students.
- Providing mobility buses for newly admitted students to ease transportation within the campus.
- Removal of TISHIP and welfare insurance fees from the school’s fee structure.
- Elimination of internet connectivity charges currently attached to the e-learning fees.
The union also presented other issues affecting students and urged management to take swift action.
In response, the management reportedly commended the union for its proactive approach and assured them of a positive response to their proposals.
The SUG leadership emphasized its commitment to transparency and continuous engagement with the school authorities, promising to keep students informed on the progress of their demands.
“We remain dedicated to serving the best interests of all students and will continue to work tirelessly to address the challenges facing our institution,” the statement concluded.
The SUG’s motto — “Laye achiever intimidator must concur, oppressor must fall” — was also reaffirmed, signifying the union’s determination to uphold student rights and welfare.
