Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji Secures NBTE Approval for New Programmes Starting from 2025/2026 Session

In a major development that promises to expand academic opportunities, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has officially granted Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, the approval to commence seven new programmes starting from the 2025/2026 academic session.
The announcement was contained in a letter dated April 8, 2025, signed by Dr. Mrs. Fatima Kabir Umar, Director of the Polytechnic Programmes Department, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris M. Bugaje. The approval follows a successful Resources Inspection Visitation conducted from March 19th to 21st, 2025.
The newly approved programmes are:
- ND Estate Management & Valuation – 1 stream of 60 students
- ND Library & Information Science – 1 stream of 60 students
- HND Business Administration and Management – 2 streams of 80 students per stream
- HND Civil Engineering Technology – 1 stream of 60 students
- ND Mechanical Engineering Technology – 1 stream of 60 students
- HND Biology/Microbiology – 1 stream of 60 students
- HND Chemistry/Biochemistry – 1 stream of 60 students
The letter emphasized that student admissions into these programmes should begin with the 2025/2026 session. However, future admissions would depend on successful full accreditation, which will be conducted when the pioneer students reach their fourth semester.
The NBTE stressed the importance of inviting the Board for full accreditation at the appropriate time, warning that failure to do so could result in disqualification from further admissions into these programmes.
This approval marks a significant milestone for Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, as it continues to grow its academic offerings and provide more educational opportunities for Nigerian students.
