The management of Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti has officially approved and released the First Semester Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session, providing full details on resumption dates, registration timelines, lecture periods, examinations, and result processing for all categories of students.
The newly released schedule confirms that academic activities for the first semester will run from late 2025 through mid-2026, affecting ND and HND students, including both SIWES and non-SIWES programmes. Students are advised to pay close attention to the outlined dates to avoid missing critical academic obligations that may attract penalties or delay graduation.
Academic staff of the institution are scheduled to proceed on leave from Monday, 24 November 2025, with the leave period expected to end on Friday, 9 January 2026. This period precedes the formal return of students for the new academic session.
Resumption for non-SIWES students has been fixed for Monday, 12 January 2026, marking the official beginning of the 2025/2026 first semester. On the same date, registration will commence for ND I, HND I, and ND II non-SIWES students, as well as HND II students. The registration exercise is scheduled to run until Friday, 23 January 2026, after which academic activities will progress fully.
Lectures for non-SIWES students are set to begin on Monday, 19 January 2026, giving students a short window to complete registration and settle into academic life. Students on the SIWES programme are expected to resume later, with their registration and lectures officially commencing on Monday, 9 February 2026.
As part of the continuous assessment structure for the semester, the institution has scheduled the first continuous assessment for non-SIWES students to hold between Monday, 2 March and Friday, 6 March 2026. SIWES students will take their first continuous assessment from Monday, 16 March to Friday, 20 March 2026.
Newly admitted students will undergo orientation activities from Tuesday, 31 March to Wednesday, 1 April 2026, after which the formal matriculation ceremony will take place on Friday, 3 April 2026, officially admitting them into the polytechnic.
The management has also announced that late registration with penalty will begin on Monday, 6 April 2026, a move that is expected to encourage early compliance with registration requirements. The same week will feature the second continuous assessment for all students, while course registration will officially close on Friday, 10 April 2026.
Lectures for the first semester will end on Friday, 17 April 2026, followed by a period allocated for revision. The first semester examinations are scheduled to commence on Monday, 20 April 2026, and will run until Saturday, 9 May 2026, covering all approved courses for the session.
Following the conclusion of examinations, scripts will be marked from Monday, 11 May to Friday, 22 May 2026, after which an auditing process will take place between Monday, 25 May and Friday, 29 May 2026 to ensure accuracy and compliance with academic standards.
Processing of first semester results is expected to begin on Monday, 1 June 2026, and end on Friday, 5 June 2026. The results will later be reviewed and considered by the Expanded Committee of Deans between Monday, 22 June and Friday, 26 June 2026.
The calendar also confirms that the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic session will officially commence on Monday, 1 June 2026, signaling the transition into the next academic phase.
Students of Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti are advised to align their academic plans with the approved calendar, complete all registrations within the stipulated periods, and prepare adequately for assessments and examinations in order to maintain smooth academic progress throughout the session.
