Osun State Polytechnic Begins 3rd Multidisciplinary International Conference in Iree

Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has officially commenced the third edition of its Multidisciplinary International Conference, bringing together academics, researchers, and industry professionals from within and outside Nigeria to discuss contemporary issues across various fields of study.
The three-day conference, held at the institution’s ETF Building, is being organized by the Directorate of Research and Publication in partnership with Academic World, United Kingdom. The event serves as a platform for intellectual engagement, knowledge sharing, and the promotion of innovative solutions to global and national challenges.
Declaring the conference open, the Osun State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Adedipo Eluwole, represented the Visitor to the institution and Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. He applauded the management of the polytechnic for sustaining the international conference series and fostering a culture of research and academic excellence.
According to the commissioner, the conference aligns with the state government’s commitment to advancing research, innovation, and international collaboration in education. He noted that such initiatives are vital for driving sustainable development and enhancing the quality of higher education in Nigeria.
The keynote address was delivered by Professor Olatunde Olatunji of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, while the lead paper was presented by Associate Professor Solomon Ojo of Osun State University, Osogbo. Both presentations highlighted critical issues and emerging trends in academia, research, and development.
The conference is expected to feature a series of paper presentations, panel discussions, and exhibitions covering a wide range of disciplines. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, present research findings, and explore collaborative opportunities that can contribute to societal progress.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Alhaji Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi; the Deputy Rector, Dr. Gboyega O. Oyeleke; the Registrar, Omo’ba Abiodun O. Oloyede; the Acting Bursar, Mr. Elijah O. Ojebowale; the Head of Library, Dr. Folasade O. Babatunde; and the Head of Works and Services, Engr. Waheed A. Bamigbade.
The conference is scheduled to conclude on Thursday, June 18, 2026, with participants expected to make meaningful contributions toward advancing research, innovation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
