Fed Poly Damaturu Rector Attends ASUP Zonal Meeting Opening Ceremony




The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, participated in the opening ceremony of the ASUP Zonal meeting held on Thursday.
During the event, he expressed his gratitude for the support received from ASUP and other unions, attributing this to his commitment to an open-door policy and transparency in governance. Dr. Bashir emphasized the Polytechnic’s commitment to financial transparency, noting that its financial transactions are readily accessible on the institution’s website. This move is part of his efforts to ensure accountability within the institution.
He also extended his thanks to the ASUP Zonal leadership, particularly Comrade Simji Innocent, for selecting Federal Polytechnic Damaturu as the host for the meeting.
Dr. Bashir wished all delegates a productive and enriching session.
ASUP National President, Comrade Shamman Kpanja, took the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Bashir on his appointment. He encouraged the Rector to harness his experience for the benefit of the Polytechnic, highlighting the need for ASUP and other unions to be viewed as partners in the advancement of the institution.
Delegates from the North East and North Central zones attended the one-day meeting.
Also in attendance are council members Alhaji Muhammad Tokollee Nasir and Dr. Muhammad Dauda Atiyaye, Registrar Muazu Aliyu Ilyasu along with Deans Directors, Heads of Departments, and leaders from sister unions SSANIP and NASU.
A communique is expected to be issued at the meeting.
