EKSPOLY Management Cautions Students Use of Social Media
The management of the Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti (EKSPOLY) has called on students to make use of social media in a way that will add positive value to their lives and academics.
The polytechnic Rector, Professor Adesodun Johnson Kayode, made this call while addressing the newly admitted National Diploma (ND) students of the 2022/2023 academic session.
The Rector affirmed that no students are allowed to Publish anything concerning the polytechnic on social media without written permission from the school authority.
“There is no gainsaying the fact that we are now in the digital world. Many have used it positively, while some have used it negatively. You are advised to use social media for only positive things that will add value to your stay at the Polytechnic.
“In line with the extant rules of the Polytechnic and as stated in the students’ handbook, no student is permitted to publish anything concerning the Polytechnic on social media without the written permission of the Polytechnic authority. You are advised not to take the law into your own hands. Any violation of this rule will not go unpunished.'”
The school management said efforts have been put in place for the provision of adequate water and power supply for the polytechnic students as they await the state government to complete the ongoing project on campus.
“The Management realized the need for having adequate power and water supply for the teeming population in the Polytechnic. The Polytechnic has provided solar power and generators to supply electricity while waiting for the State Government to complete the ongoing projects on campus.”
“The Polytechnic will continue to work around the clock to ensure the security of the lives and properties of students and staff within and outside the Campus. However, you are expected to be security conscious throughout your stay at the Polytechnic.”
