Eyewitness accounts gathered by POLY TV confirm that several individuals were shot dead on the spot, while an unknown number of others were abducted during the terrifying incident. The assailants, who arrived in two vehicles, opened fire indiscriminately, sending residents and students into hiding.
Disturbing videos shared with POLY TV show victims lying in pools of blood, with some motionless and others groaning in pain. The continuous gunfire made it impossible for anyone to render assistance, as the entire area was thrown into chaos for hours.
Students of Federal Polytechnic Oko who recorded the incident from their hostels expressed fear and helplessness as the shooting raged on. One of the casualties has been identified as a popular suya vendor in the area. There are also unconfirmed reports that some lecturers may have been among those kidnapped.
Sources suggest the attack may be linked to growing tension around a new checkpoint reportedly mounted by the Operation Udo Ga Achi security outfit near the Total filling station. This checkpoint, added to existing ones nearby, allegedly triggered unrest in the area.

At the time of this report, the identity of the attackers remains unknown, and the motive behind the deadly operation is still unclear. POLY TV will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
