Delta State Maritime Polytechnic Burutu Opens Admission Into ND/HND Programmes for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The Delta State Maritime Polytechnic, Burutu, has officially announced the commencement of admission into its National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The institution, which prides itself as a hub for maritime and technical education in Nigeria, offers a wide range of courses across its four major schools:
1. School of Business Studies
- Maritime Transport (ND/HND)
- Marketing (ND)
- Public Administration (ND)
- Accountancy (ND)
- Business Administration (ND)
2. School of Engineering
- Marine Engineering (ND)
- Mechanical Engineering (ND)
- Ship and Boat Building Engineering (ND)
- Petroleum Engineering (ND)
- Computer Engineering (ND)
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ND)
- Civil Engineering (ND)
- Petroleum Engineering (ND)
3. School of Science and Technology
- Nautical Science (ND)
- Computer Science (ND)
- Fisheries (ND)
- Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) (ND)
4. School of Safety and Environmental Studies
- Industrial Safety and Environmental Management Technology (ND)
- Urban and Regional Planning Technology (ND)
- Estate Management and Valuation Technology (ND)
- Geo-Informatics Technology (ND)
- Environmental Science Technology (ND)
Entry Requirements
Applicants for National Diploma (ND) programmes are required to have a minimum of five O’level credits, including English Language, Mathematics, and relevant science or business-related subjects depending on the course of choice. The institution accepts SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or equivalent certificates obtained in not more than two sittings.
For Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes, candidates must have completed their ND in a related discipline from Delta State Maritime Polytechnic or any recognized institution, with at least a Lower Credit grade and a one-year industrial training experience.
Application Procedure
- Candidates must apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal for ND programmes.
- Application forms are available online via the institution’s website at www.dsmt.edu.ng.
- Application fee is ₦20,000 for ND and ₦25,000 for HND.
Aptitude Test
The Polytechnic has also announced that all applicants will be required to sit for an aptitude test. Centres include:
- Delta State Maritime Polytechnic, Burutu
- Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku
- Delta State Polytechnic, Kwale Campus
- Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara
- College of Education, Warri
