Apply for FG TVET Programme 2026: Monthly ₦22,500 Stipend, Free Skills Training and Job Opportunities for Nigerians

The Federal Government has opened applications for the second phase of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training programme, offering Nigerians an opportunity to acquire practical, job-ready skills with financial support.
The initiative, announced by the Federal Ministry of Education, is part of ongoing efforts to tackle unemployment, boost entrepreneurship, and equip young people with in-demand skills for today’s competitive job market.
According to the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, applications for the nationwide programme officially commenced on April 13, 2026. He urged interested Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity, noting that the programme is designed to build technical capacity and create sustainable employment pathways.
The TVET programme aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, with a focus on expanding access to skill-based education and empowering citizens to achieve financial independence through vocational training and certification.
Participants in the programme will undergo intensive hands-on training lasting between six months and one year at accredited centres across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The training is structured to deliver real-world experience that enhances employability and supports self-employment.
Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of ₦22,500 throughout the training period. Upon completion, participants will also be awarded nationally recognised certificates, improving their chances of securing high-paying jobs or starting their own businesses.
The programme covers a wide range of high-demand skill areas, including construction, information and communication technology, automotive technology, agriculture, fashion and garment production, cosmetology, tourism and hospitality, catering services, leather works, and creative media.
To ensure commitment and accountability, attendance will be monitored through biometric verification systems, and stipend payments will be tied strictly to participation and compliance with programme requirements.
Applicants are required to provide their National Identification Number and Bank Verification Number during registration. The ministry also emphasized that only candidates who demonstrate dedication to learning practical skills and complete the training successfully will benefit fully from the programme.
In addition, the government is working in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism to strengthen training in creative and cultural industries, unlocking more income opportunities within Nigeria’s growing creative economy.
The Federal Government encouraged all eligible Nigerians to apply through the official TVET portal and take advantage of the programme to gain valuable, market-relevant skills that can lead to long-term career growth, self-reliance, and financial stability.
This initiative represents a major opportunity for Nigerians seeking free vocational training, monthly income support, and access to skills that are in high demand both locally and internationally.
