Federal Polytechnic Ohodo Management Visits UNN Vice-Chancellor, Seeks Stronger Academic Partnership

The management of Federal Polytechnic Ohodo has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof. Simon U. Ortuanya, in a move aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and advancing academic development.
The delegation, led by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Ediri Emmanuel Agada, visited the Vice-Chancellor on Thursday, May 21, 2026, to congratulate him on his appointment and reaffirm the Polytechnic’s commitment to building productive partnerships with leading academic institutions in Nigeria.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Agada described Prof. Ortuanya as a distinguished academic and an illustrious son of Ohodo community whose contributions and engagements have continued to positively influence the growth and development of the Polytechnic.
The Rector expressed appreciation for the Vice-Chancellor’s sustained interest in the progress of the institution and emphasized the Polytechnic’s readiness to deepen collaboration with University of Nigeria, Nsukka in key areas such as academic excellence, research partnerships, staff development, innovation, and institutional capacity building.
According to him, stronger collaboration between tertiary institutions remains critical to improving the quality of education, research productivity, and sustainable development within Nigeria’s higher education sector.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof. Simon U. Ortuanya, warmly welcomed the delegation and commended the management of Federal Polytechnic Ohodo for its commitment to academic growth, discipline, and institutional development.
He praised the leadership of the Polytechnic for laying a strong foundation for a relatively young institution and encouraged the management team to remain focused, resilient, and consistent in pursuing its developmental objectives.
Prof. Ortuanya also assured the delegation of his goodwill and support towards fostering constructive engagement and mutual advancement between both institutions.
The visit was attended by principal officers and members of management from both Federal Polytechnic Ohodo and University of Nigeria, Nsukka, reflecting the growing relationship between the two institutions and their shared commitment to academic excellence and institutional progress.
