2026 UTME Registration: JAMB Offers Free Application Forms to Persons with Disabilities

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that persons with disabilities (PWDs) will receive free application forms for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The announcement was made by JAMB Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja.
Registration for the 2026 UTME began on January 26 and will continue until February 28. According to the board, it has already collected over N2.2 billion from the sale of UTME e-Pins nationwide.
JAMB reiterated that the provision of free forms for PWDs will be facilitated through its JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG), continuing a practice from previous years aimed at ensuring equitable access to higher education for all candidates.
The board emphasized that free application forms are part of ongoing initiatives to provide equal opportunities for candidates with disabilities seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.
Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, addressing key stakeholders at JAMB’s headquarters in Abuja, reaffirmed the board’s commitment to supporting the welfare of persons living with disabilities (PLWDs) during the registration process.
Eligible candidates include individuals with Down Syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other recognized disabilities. Prof. Oloyede noted that candidates must have at least five O/L credits in not more than two sittings to qualify.
In addition, JAMB will provide audiobooks for visually impaired candidates, ensuring accessibility to exam materials. These digital audio resources will be available in MP3, WMV, and WMA formats, compatible with all devices capable of streaming audio content.
Prof. Oloyede emphasized that these measures reflect JAMB’s dedication to fostering inclusion, fairness, and accessibility in the UTME registration process, enabling candidates with disabilities to pursue higher education without barriers.
