JAMB 2026 Direct Entry Registration Begins | Application Deadline and Requirements

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has officially commenced the 2026 Direct Entry registration process for eligible candidates seeking admission into Nigerian universities.
In an announcement released on Monday via its official communication channels, the examination body confirmed that the sale of Direct Entry application documents began on March 2, 2026, and will close on April 25, 2026.
2026 Direct Entry Registration Dates
According to JAMB, prospective Direct Entry applicants can now purchase and complete their application within the approved registration window:
Registration Commencement Date: March 2, 2026
Registration Closing Date: April 25, 2026
Candidates are strongly advised to complete their registration early to avoid last-minute delays and possible system congestion as the deadline approaches.
Where to Complete JAMB Direct Entry Registration
JAMB stated clearly that the Direct Entry registration service is strictly accessible at its designated offices nationwide. Applicants will not be able to process this category of registration outside approved JAMB offices.
The board emphasized that candidates should ensure they follow official procedures and avoid unauthorized agents to prevent registration errors or invalid applications.
What Direct Entry Means for 2026 Admission Seekers
The Direct Entry pathway allows candidates with advanced qualifications such as National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, Nigeria Certificate in Education, IJMB, JUPEB, or equivalent credentials to secure admission directly into 200-level in Nigerian universities, subject to institutional requirements.
The commencement of the 2026 Direct Entry sales signals the beginning of the admission cycle for candidates seeking university placement through this route.
Why Early Registration Is Important
Education analysts note that early registration improves candidates’ chances of resolving documentation issues, correcting data discrepancies, and meeting institutional deadlines. With increased competition for limited university admission slots, applicants are encouraged to complete their process within the official timeframe.
Prospective candidates are advised to regularly monitor official updates from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board regarding further instructions, admission guidelines, and verification procedures for the 2026 academic session.
As the registration window remains open until April 25, 2026, eligible applicants are urged to take prompt action and ensure full compliance with JAMB’s registration requirements to avoid missing out on the 2026 Direct Entry admission opportunity.
