UTME/DE 2026 Registration: JAMB Warns Candidates to Create Profiles Early

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has urged all prospective candidates for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) to begin creating their profiles without delay. The board emphasized that early profile creation will help prevent last-minute challenges during registration and examination.
In a recent bulletin, JAMB reminded candidates to ensure their National Identification Number (NIN) details are accurate before initiating profile creation. Inaccurate information, the board warned, could lead to complications that may be difficult to correct once registration begins.
“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) wishes to inform all candidates intending to register for the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry (DE) that they should proceed to create their JAMB profiles immediately if they have not done so. Candidates must ensure their NIN details are accurately captured before initiating profile creation,” the board stated.
JAMB noted that while registration for the 2026 UTME and DE will begin soon, candidates are encouraged to prepare in advance by verifying that all personal information is correct and consistent across official records. The board highlighted that correction windows for inaccurate data are limited, and not all requests for amendments may be accommodated.
Candidates were therefore advised to take personal responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of their details from the onset to avoid registration issues.
The board also reassured Nigerians that the cost of UTME and DE application forms has remained unchanged for the past nine years. JAMB indicated that fees for the 2026 registration are unlikely to increase, except in exceptional circumstances necessary to preserve the integrity and quality of the examinations. This approach aligns with government directives aimed at easing the financial burden on families while maintaining high educational standards.
With early profile creation, candidates can secure a smooth registration process, avoid last-minute delays, and ensure that they are fully prepared for the 2026 examination cycle. Parents and guardians are encouraged to assist their children in confirming NIN details and completing profiles promptly.
