SUG Direct Students to Suspend payment as Kwara Poly Management Increases School Fees

Following the release of the approved school fees for the 2022/2023 academic session by Management of Kwara State polytechnic, Ilorin, the students union government has directed all students to suspend all payment till further notice.
This decision was announced by the SUG president in a press statement on Tuesday November 1st.
POLYTV reports that the school management had approve an increase in school fees as registration fees which was formerly #62,000 has now risen above #70,000 to #120,000 per session.
The SUG president, Senator Ishola assured the polytechnic students that the school fee will be reversed to status quo urging the students to be calm while they dialogue with the school management.

“This is to officially notify the entire students of Kwara state polytechnic that the payment for the 2022/2023 academic session school fees has been suspended.”
“The students’ union government under the leadership of Senator Ishola Abdulsalam is exploring every legal means in ensuring that the student interest is protected.”

The student body further dissociated itself from the purported protest making rounds on social media, urging Students to debunk the news as it doesn’t generate from the union.
“We have gotten the assurance of both the polytechnic management and the representative of the government for a reversal and we are assuring you of our commitment to the struggle….
“We urge all our students, and the general public to treat as fake and impersonation, the news of the purported protest as it remains a false alarm, triggered towards destabilizing the peace being enjoyed in the Polytechnic”
