Students in Indecent Dressing will be Denied Entry into the Polytechnic – AkwaPoly Warns

The management of the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic has cautioned students to dress decently on campus as the polytechnic commences the semester on Wednesday.
According to a memo signed by the Dean of Students’ Affairs, any student who violates the school’s dress code will be denied entry to campus and face disciplinary action.
The memo reads:
“As the Second Semester Examination commences from tomorrow Wednesday 16th October, 2024, I would like to remind all students that Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua is committed to maintaining a respectful and professional academic environment and as such all acts of Indecent dressing while on campus and within examination halls will NOT be tolerated.”
“Indecent dressing undermines the values of decorum, respect, and discipline that the Polytechnic upholds. As representatives of this esteemed institution, students are expected to adhere to the Institutions dress code policy, which ensures that all students present themselves in a manner that reflects the dignity of both their individual selves and the academic community as a whole.”
“Clothing such as revealing tops, shorts, miniskirts, torn jeans, and any other form of attire deemed inappropriate or suggestive should be avoided during exams.”
“Any student found in violation of the dress code will be denied entry to examination halls or may face disciplinary measures as prescribed by the Polytechnic regulations.”
“I encourage all students to comply with these guidelines as we work together to maintain a respectful environment during this crucial period.”
