Student Week 2026: AMCOS and Izon-Ibe Cultural Day Steal the Show at DSPG

The 2026 Student Week at Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku (DSPG) concluded on a memorable note, featuring a series of activities that promoted student engagement, cultural heritage, and departmental unity across the institution.

The week commenced with the Departmental Day celebration, popularly known as AMCOS Day, organised by the Association of Mass Communication Students (AMCOS). The event brought together students and lecturers for academic and social activities aimed at strengthening unity within the department.

One of the student leaders involved in the programme, who served as the Director of Socials of AMCOS, expressed appreciation for the successful outing, describing it as a rewarding experience to coordinate an event that fostered collaboration and participation among students.

The celebration also featured the colourful Izon-Ibe Cultural Day, where members of the National Union of Izon-Ibe Students, DSPG Chapter, showcased their rich cultural heritage through traditional attire, music, dance, and other cultural displays. The student leader also served as a Chief and Financial Secretary of the association during the event.

Participants commended students, organisers, and stakeholders whose contributions ensured a peaceful, colourful, and successful Student Week. The activities were widely praised for promoting cultural diversity, friendship, and a stronger sense of community among students of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
