Osun State Polytechnic Merges Two Academic Sessions—Here’s What It Means for New Degree Students

In a significant move to address admission delays and ease the academic calendar, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has announced the merging of the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions for its degree programmes. This announcement was made via an internal memorandum from the Office of the Registrar, dated April 8, 2025.
The memorandum, addressed to all students admitted through the University of Ilorin and Nnamdi Azikiwe University affiliations, welcomed the new students and assured them of a smooth academic experience.
According to the Registrar, Mr. Abiodun O. Oloyede, the merger was necessitated by the late opening of the JAMB CAPS portal for the 2024/2025 academic year, which prevented many eligible candidates from securing admission on time.
“The 2025/2026 Academic Session will hopefully commence in August 2025,” the memo stated, adding that by then, most prospective candidates would have been successfully admitted.
The institution emphasized its commitment to accommodating all qualified candidates and maintaining a stable academic calendar moving forward.
Students are advised to stay updated with further information from the institution and prepare for a unified academic session starting later this year.
