OSPOLY Rector Warns New Students: Zero Tolerance for Cultism, Exam Malpractice, Vows to Provide..,

Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, has announced that it has concluded arrangements to digitalize its operations, stating that it will soon begin with the provision of 24-hour internet connectivity within the institution’s premises.
This was disclosed by the institution’s Rector, Mr. Kehinde Alabi, on Thursday while delivering a speech at the matriculation ceremony for the newly admitted ND1, HND1, and NCE1 students of the institution at the Education Trust Fund (ETF) Hall.
Alabi explained that the institution is willing to offer students plethora of opportunities, saying that “to those whom is given, much is expected.”
“In return for our resolve to transform the institution to a prominent citadel of learning, we expect you to be law-abiding, disciplined and to pay your fees in good time,” Kehinde added.
Mr. Alabi also warned the students to refrain from all forms of unacceptable vices during their stay in the institution.
“There are vices that are not acceptable in this community, avoid them like a plague. Cultism, Indecent Dressing, Examination Mal-practice, Hooliganism and other Mal-adaptive behaviour are cankerworm that the institution has zero tolerance for, I admonish you all not to engage in any of them”. The Rector said.
The Rector admonished the new intakes to obtain a copy of Students’ Guardian so as to guide them on their admission, registration and examination and school procedure.
While congratulating the new students, Alabi advised them to always comport themselves appropriately as their dressing and utterances should portray them as a cultured ambassador of the Institution in line with the motto of the Institution which is “Excellence in Character and Technology.”
He emphasized that students should always fight for their rights and eschew every form of violence as student grievances should be made to the Student Affairs Office.
Alabi enjoined the students to prepare well for their examination, pay their school fee and register their courses on the portal as the institution will not will not hesitate to invoke the penalties for non payment of school fees and non registration of course.
He mentioned that classrooms, laboratory and even the library will be restructured, upgraded or rebuilt as in line in pursuance of Academic Excellence.
