OGITECH Welcome Freshers, Matriculates Over 3,000 Students for the 2023/2024 Academic Session

The Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, proudly ushered in a new wave of over 3000 students into its accredited programs sanctioned by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Speaking at the 18th Matriculation Ceremony held on Wednesday, 13th March 2024, at the esteemed Prince Dapo Abiodun Twin Lecture Theater of the Institute, the Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, emphasized the Institute’s commitment to nurturing its students’ growth and development.
Dr. Oluseye urged the freshly matriculated students to uphold the Institute’s rules and regulations, essential for their optimal development while imparting the slogan, “Our Graduate… The Nation’s Pride”. He expressed his faith in the Institute’s capacity to guide the students toward holistic development, stating, “I trust God to use this Polytechnic to nurture your growth and development in all facets of life.”
Highlighting the significance of the matriculation exercise, Dr. Oluseye emphasized its role in formally accepting new students into the Institute. He stressed the importance of abiding by the Institution’s ethos, participating in its activities, and exhibiting exemplary conduct throughout its tenure.
Furthermore, Dr. Oluseye underscored the imperative for students to seize the opportunities afforded by their enrollment, advocating for humility, hard work, and dedication as pathways to greatness. He warned against deviant behavior, stating unequivocally that the Institute upholds zero tolerance for cultism, hooliganism, corrupt practices, and other vices.
The ceremony also featured a goodwill message by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede represented by Mr. Hakeem Abdulhameed, Ogun State Zonal Coordinator, commending the Institute for its commendable reputation and adherence to JAMB regulations, he encouraged OGITECH to sustain its exemplary performance.

Addressing the gathering, the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson, reiterated the Institute’s commitment to excellence, reminding students of its accolades, including the prestigious recognition by JAMB as the most Compliant Institution in 2019, accompanied by a substantial monetary award of 75 million Naira.
The matriculation ceremony not only marked the formal induction of new students into the OGITECH family but also served as a poignant reminder of the Institute’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and character building.
