The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) was established on 5 February 1964 in response to the defence needs of independent Nigeria to train officers for the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Before then, the institution was known as the Royal Military Forces Training College (RMFTC). After independence in 1960, it became known as the Nigerian Military Training College.

The vision of the NDA is to produce officers with broad-based training in both military and academic subjects designed to serve as a foundation for the future progressive development of officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

What is NDA cut-off mark? 

Conventionally, the cut-off mark for NDA is a score of 180 in the JAMB UTME DEPENDS ON YOUR COURSE.

Does NDA do Direct Entry (DE)? 

NO NDA does not accept direct entry. That is, you can’t use your ND/HND result to gain admission to NDA.

What is the school fees for NDA? 

The cost of logistics and studying at the Nigeria DEFENCE Academy is done by the Federal Government. That is, it’s FREE.  Although there are still some levies you would have to pay when you finally gain admission.

 Can I apply for NDA with my ND, HND, or BSc? 

No, Applicants must apply through JAMB and must choose the Nigeria DEFENCE Academy as their first choice. 

What is the duration of study at NDA? 

Duration is between four (4) to Five (5) years. 

Can one get admission to NDA without JAMB? 

NO, you can’t.

What is the nature of study at NDA?

NDA runs a hybrid programme that embraces MILITARY Training and BSc 

What rank do I get after graduation?

After graduation, you’re commissioned into the THREE OF THE GIVEN ARM OF SERVICE SUCH AS THE Nigeria MILITARY as a one Star GENERAL

Does NDA do Short Service?  No!
