Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja 2022/2023 HND FULL-TIME FORM IS OUT (Apply Now)

This is to Inform the General public that the management of kogi state polytechnic Lokoja has announced admission into her Higher National Diploma (HND) Full-time programmes for the 2022/2023 Academic session.

Below are the list of the courses/programmes available and admission requirements.

1. SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCE

Computer Science
Statistics

Science Laboratory
Technology (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Environmental Biology Option)

Entry Requirements for (1) Above

(a) Higher National Diploma in Computer Science (Two Years) Candidates must possess National Diploma in Computer Science and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics, and Physics are compulsory at the credit level. A credit in any other Science subject and Social Science subject is also required, with one (1) year of compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

(b) Higher National Diploma in Statistics (Two Years) Candidates must possess National Diploma in Statistics and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings which must include English Language and Mathematics with any other three Science or Social Science subjects is required. In addition, the candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year of compulsory industrial training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training.

(C) Higher National Diploma in Science and Laboratory Technology (Two Years) With options in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Environmental Biology. Candidates must possess National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics are compulsory at the credit level. A credit in any other science subject and Social Science subject is also required, with one (1) year compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

2. SCHOOL OF ART’S DESIGN AND PRINTING

Higher National Diploma in:

a. Industrial Design with Options in Graphics, Textiles, and Ceramics

b. Fine Arts, with Options in Painting and Sculpture

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR (2) ABOVE

Candidates for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Industrial Design with options and Fine Arts with options, (2.0 (a) and 2.0

(b)) must possess National Diploma in Fine Arts and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings English Language, Mathematics, Fine Arts or Visual Arts, Chemistry, History, Biology, Literature in English, Clothing, and Textiles, Religious Knowledge and any other Sciences. In addition, candidates must have one (1) year of compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

3. SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

Higher National Diploma in:

a. Mineral Resources Engineering (Two Years)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR (3) ABOVE

a. Higher National Diploma Mineral/Petroleum Resources Engineering (Two Years) With options in the following:

1. Mining Engineering Technology

ii. Geological Engineering Technology iii. Mineral Processing Engineering Technology

Candidates must possess National Diploma in a. Mineral Resources Engineering and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics, and Chemistry and any three subjects from Metalwork, Technical-Drawing, Basic Electronics, and Geography. Such candidate must have one (1) year of compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes especially for candidates from other institutions.

b. Higher National Diploma Metallurgical and Material Engineering (Two Years)

Candidates must possess National Diploma in Metallurgical and Material Engineering and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any three subjects Science. Such candidate must have one (1) year of compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

4. SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY

Higher National Diploma in:

a. Urban and Regional Planning

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR 4 ABOVE

Candidates for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Urban and Regional Planning must possess National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings English Language, Mathematics, and Geography and any two subjects from the followings; Economics, Physics, Biology/Agriculture Science, Fine Art. In addition, candies must have one (1) year of compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years of compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

5. SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES

Higher National Diploma in:

a. Accountancy

b. Business Administration and Management

c. Library and Information Science

d. Office Technology and Management

e. Public Administration

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR (5) ABOVE

a. Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (Two Years)

Candidates must possess National Diploma in Accountancy and must have a minimum of lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50 and five credits O/Level (NECO/WAEC/GCE/NABTEB) at not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics are compulsory at credit level. A credit in any other science subject and social science subject is also required, with one (1) year compulsory Industrial Training or a pass in ND result with two (2) years compulsory Industrial Training. ND Transcript is required for admission into all HND programmes, especially for candidates from other institutions.

b. Higher National Diploma in Business Administration and Management (Two Years) Same as (5.1a) above but qualification must be National Diploma in business Administration.

c. Higher National Diploma in Library and Information Science (Two Years) Same as (5.1a) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Library and Information Science and at least a credit pass in one science subject at the O’level.

d. Higher National Diploma in Office Technology and Management (Two Years) Same as (5.1a) above but the qualification must be National Diploma in Office Technology and Management.

e. Higher National Diploma in Public Administration (Two Years) Same as (5.1a) above but qualification must be National Diploma in Public Administrations and at least a credit pass in Government or Civic Education at the O’level.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Qualified candidates are advised to generate two different RRR numbers for the Admission Form and the screening fee from the school portal https://portal.kogistatepolytechnic.edu.ng/Login/homed and proceed to make payment as follows:

HND Progammes: N8,000.00 (Admission Form Fee) and N2,000.00 (Screening Fee) = N10, 000.00

Note: Registration duration is 6 weeks from the day of this Publication. All Applicants are to submit a hard copy of their Credentials at the Polytechnic Admission office on or before the Screening date.
