Jigawa State Polytechnic Commended for Supporting Staff Development as Lecturer Earns PhD

Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse, has received commendation for its commitment to staff development and academic excellence following the successful completion of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by one of its lecturers, Dr. Nura Isa, with the institution’s support.
A delegation of well-wishers led by the Provost of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Federal University Dutse, Professor Gambo Babandi, paid a courtesy visit to the Polytechnic on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, to express appreciation to the management for creating an enabling environment that promotes professional growth and academic advancement among staff.
The delegation was received by the Rector of Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dr. Suleiman Ahmed Badayi, alongside members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Jigawa State Polytechnic Chapter.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Badayi reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to investing in staff capacity building as a key strategy for improving teaching, research, and institutional development. He noted that encouraging lecturers to pursue higher qualifications remains one of the Polytechnic’s priorities in its drive to strengthen academic standards.
The Rector described Dr. Nura Isa, a lecturer in the Department of Statistics, as a hardworking, dedicated, and committed academic whose achievement reflects perseverance, professionalism, and the value of continuous learning.
As part of the occasion, Dr. Badayi presented the gifts brought by the well-wishers to Dr. Isa and expressed appreciation to the visiting delegation for recognising the Polytechnic’s efforts in promoting staff development.
He also offered prayers for Dr. Isa, expressing hope that the knowledge and expertise gained through his doctoral studies would contribute meaningfully to the advancement of education, research, and national development.
The visit further highlighted the growing recognition of Jigawa State Polytechnic’s commitment to human capital development and its continued investment in building a highly qualified workforce capable of delivering quality technical and higher education.
