IMAP Begins HND Mass Comm, Others As NBTE Approves 33 Programes

In its determined efforts towards professional development and technical education landscape advancement, the Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic Lafia, on Wednesday, announced the approval and accreditation of its 33 academic programmes to be run by the institution.
Mukhtar Wakeel, Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol of the Polytechnic, disclosed this in a press statement.
Wakeel said the newly approved programmes would begin academic sessions in the 2025/2026 academic year.
He noted that the development is a historic milestone achieved by the institution, adding that it would significantly broaden its horizon for technical education advancement, professional development and expand its global competitiveness and presence.
He mentioned the programmes approved and fully accredited to include; ND Urban & Regional Planning, ND Estate Management & Valuation, ND Quantity Surveying, ND Accountancy, ND Local Government Studies, ND Business Administration and Management, ND Public Administration, ND Civil Engineering Technology, ND Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, ND Mechanical Engineering Technology, Institutional Administration, ND Computer Science, ND Science Laboratory Technology, ND Tourism Management Technology, ND Building Technology, ND Office Technology and Management, ND Computer Engineering Technology, ND Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology, ND Water Resources Engineering Technology, ND Renewable Energy Engineering Technology, ND Mechatronics Engineering Technology, ND Environmental Science and Management Technology, ND Geological Technology, HND Science Laboratory Technology (Biochemistry Option), HND Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology (Electronic/Telecommunications Option), HND Mechanical Engineering Technology (Manufacturing Option), HND Mechanical Engineering Technology (Plant Option), HND Strategic Communication and Media Studies, HND Software and Web Development, HND Science Laboratory Technology (Chemistry) HND Science Laboratory Technology (Environmental Biology Option), HND Social Development (Social Welfare Option).”
The statement added that with the accomplishments recorded, the vision of the institution towards becoming one of the country’s five most competitive polytechnics through professional expertise, collaboration and determined contribution to national and international communities is achievable.
Over two decades of the institution’s establishment, the institution now has Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication, Social Development among others.
NBTE accreditation and re-accreditation team visited the institution in February, this year.
