Federal Polytechnic Wannune Appoints New Management Staff to Strengthen Academic and Administrative Operations

The management of Federal Polytechnic Wannune, Benue State, has announced the appointment of new officials into key academic and administrative positions as part of efforts to strengthen institutional growth, leadership efficiency, and academic excellence.
The appointments were officially unveiled on January 14, 2026, during a management session held at the institution’s conference room, where the Rector and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Tyover Ashinya Dajoh, confirmed the development following approvals by the Academic and Management Boards.
According to the Rector, the appointments were carefully reviewed and approved based on merit, competence, and the institution’s commitment to quality service delivery. He charged the newly appointed officers to immediately begin work toward advancing the polytechnic’s mandate and sustaining the remarkable progress already recorded by the administration.
Among those appointed as directors and coordinators are Dr. Gesa Ter Richard as Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Yua Henry as Director of Career Services Centre, and Akor Apollos Akaater as Director of Research, Innovation and Development.
Others include Akorga Moses Terngu as Director of SIWES, Chief Abon Isaac as Director of Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Dr. Aper Igbadio as Director of Quality Assurance, and Dr. Mrs. Blessing Nomor as Director of Guidance and Counseling.
The institution also appointed Achimba Terfa as Coordinator of the ICT Unit, Ordue Agera James as Coordinator of Consultancy Services, Najime Nezuami as Deputy Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Jacob Jande as Deputy Director of Quality Assurance, and Engr. Dr. Tiza Michael as Deputy Director of Research, Innovation and Development.
The management equally approved the appointment of new deans for various faculties and academic units. Asaar Godwin Bem was named Dean of the School of Sciences and also assigned supervisory responsibility for the Agric Faculty, while Engr. Dr. Amah Gideon emerged as Dean of Engineering.
Other appointments include Nnadi Jovita Egondu as Acting Dean of Communication and Information Science, Engr. Dr. Tiza Michael to supervise Environmental Sciences, Dr. Duenya Moses Imoter as Dean of Management Sciences, and Tiough Samuel Mtsegh as Dean of Students Affairs.
In the departments, several academic staff were appointed as Heads of Departments to oversee academic administration and student affairs across the institution. Among them are Ityavyar Vivian Doosuur as HOD of Accountancy, Apuu Joshua as HOD of Agricultural Crop Production Technology, Ateata Grace Erdoo as HOD of Computer Science, and Engr. Hule Peter as HOD of Computer Engineering.
Others include Engr. Iyoo Godwin Mzaga as HOD of Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Dr. Iorhemen Iorchir as HOD of Public Administration, Koko Iveren Hannah as HOD of Estate Management, and Dr. Simon Iorkegh as HOD of Statistics.
The institution also appointed Ogugua Kelechi Kingsley as HOD of Quantity Surveying, Agbatar Grace as HOD of Urban and Regional Planning, Ekpa Monday Ebec as HOD of Building Technology, and Jato Stephen as HOD of Mass Communication.
Additional appointments include Dr. Akuha Tor as HOD of Agricultural Extension Management, Ogenyi Ziporah Kelechukwu as HOD of Cooperative Economics, Atondo Moses as HOD of Science Laboratory Technology, and Dr. Bemgba Yange as HOD of General Studies.
The management further announced Tarnongo Tom Jacob as the School Examinations Officer.
Speaking during the assignment of offices to the newly appointed officials, Dr. Dajoh urged them to remain committed, disciplined, and result-oriented in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized that the institution would not tolerate negligence or lack of dedication to service.
The Rector noted that the appointments were made strictly on merit and reflected the institution’s desire to sustain ongoing infrastructural and human capital development across the polytechnic.
He also dismissed negative narratives and alleged defamatory posts circulating on some social media platforms, describing them as deliberate attempts by individuals determined to undermine the institution’s progress.
Dr. Dajoh congratulated the newly appointed officers and wished them success in their new responsibilities as they work collectively toward advancing the vision and aspirations of Federal Polytechnic Wannune.
