Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Strengthens Security Ties with Host Communities and Security Agencies




The management of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has intensified efforts to safeguard the lives and properties of its community by engaging key stakeholders in a strategic security meeting.
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, the Rector and top management of the institution met with members of the “Town and Gown Relations Committee,” chaired by the Registrar, Alhaji Kasimu Salihu. The committee comprises community leaders from Gwallameji, Birshi Gandu/Fulani, Rafin Zurfi, Yayire, Unguwar Kanawa, Tsakani, and other neighbouring villages.
Also in attendance were the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Yelwa Division, representatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Bauchi Local Government Council, and the Bauchi Emirate Council, as well as the District Head of Miri. Student representatives, including the leadership of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), alongside the Dean of Student Affairs and the Chief Security Officer, also took part in the discussions.
According to the institution’s management, the meeting was aimed at fostering stronger collaboration between the polytechnic, its host communities, and security agencies to address security concerns and ensure a peaceful learning environment.
The Rector emphasised that the safety of students, staff, and surrounding communities remains a top priority and pledged continued partnership with all stakeholders to sustain peace and order.
