Delta State Polytechnic Denies Certificate Racketeering Allegations, Calls Claims Baseless

Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, has strongly denied allegations of certificate racketeering after claims surfaced on Facebook suggesting that National Diploma (ND) certificates were being sold by the institution.
The controversy arose following an investigative report by freelance journalist Martin White-Ufuah, who claimed to have successfully purchased an ND certificate from the Polytechnic. According to White-Ufuah, the certificate awarded him an Upper Credit grade, and he provided video evidence to support his claims.
In an official statement, the Polytechnic’s management dismissed the report as “baseless and malicious,” asserting that the alleged forged certificate did not resemble its official documents. The institution further clarified that the names of officials listed on the so-called forged documents were not even employed at the school during the time in question.
Condemning the allegations as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and damage its reputation, the Polytechnic reaffirmed its commitment to academic integrity. The school also warned against fraudsters attempting to exploit its name and urged the public to disregard the claims.
This statement was issued by the institution’s Information, Public Relations & Publications Unit of the Rector’s Office.
