The renewed Linkage Programme Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) meeting was held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, between the Ogun State Chapter of CIBN and the Department of Banking and Finance of the Polytechnic.
The strategic meeting brought together top management officials of the institution and representatives of the professional banking body to consolidate the long-standing relationship between both institutions and enhance the quality of banking education.
Leading the CIBN delegation was the Ogun State Chapter Chairman, Mr. Isaac Arokun FCIB, accompanied by immediate past Branch Chairman and Council Member, Dr. Segun Osadare FCIB, as well as the South-West Zonal Coordinator, Mrs. Aderonke Adeleke.

A major highlight of the meeting was the official presentation and handover of the renewed CIBN Linkage Programme Memorandum of Understanding to the Rector and the Head of Department, signifying the continuation of collaborative engagements between both institutions.
Speaking during the meeting, representatives of the Chartered Institute of Banking of Nigeria stressed the importance of strengthening professional standards within tertiary institutions offering Banking and Finance programmes.
According to the delegation, the linkage programme is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice by exposing students to professional ethics, emerging trends in the financial sector, and globally accepted banking standards.
The Ogun State Chapter Chairman, Mr. Isaac Arokun FCIB, described the partnership as a strategic platform for producing competent graduates capable of meeting the dynamic demands of Nigeria’s banking and financial sector.
He stated that the institute remains committed to supporting academic institutions through professional mentorship, capacity-building programmes, certification opportunities, and career development initiatives for students and lecturers.
In his remarks, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Mobolaji Onasanya, commended the Chartered Institute of Banking of Nigeria for sustaining its relationship with the institution and promoting excellence within the banking profession.
Dr. Onasanya noted that the Polytechnic remains focused on producing highly skilled graduates equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies required in today’s competitive labour market.
He further explained that the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding would create more opportunities for students of the Department of Banking and Finance to benefit from professional development programmes, industry exposure, networking opportunities, research collaborations, and career advancement initiatives.
The Acting Head of the Department, Mr. Aramide Lawal, also expressed appreciation to the CIBN delegation, describing the linkage programme as a valuable academic and professional support system capable of enhancing teaching and learning within the department.
Stakeholders at the meeting observed that the renewed partnership aligns with the growing need for stronger synergy between higher institutions and professional organisations in addressing workforce challenges and contemporary economic realities.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to sustaining mutually beneficial collaborations aimed at advancing academic excellence, professional competence, and institutional development at Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo.
