Tension After Cult Clash at Osun Poly Iree: School Breaks Silence, Denies Death Rumour

Following widespread reports of a deadly cult clash at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, the institution has broken its silence, assuring the public that all students are safe and accounted for.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mr. Abiodun Oloyede, dismissed rumours of any fatality resulting from the incident which occurred on Tuesday, describing the campus environment as “calm” and fully operational.
“Our students are safe,” the statement read. “Normal administrative and academic activities are in progress. Students are attending lectures, and staff are carrying out their duties without disruption.”
Oloyede also confirmed the presence of security operatives on campus, including the Anti-Cultism Squad of the Nigeria Police, to maintain peace and prevent any potential crisis.
Contrary to reports of a student’s death, the institution revealed that only two students sustained minor injuries during the clash. Both have since been treated and discharged from the school’s clinic.
The Polytechnic’s management urged parents and guardians not to panic, reiterating that there is no cause for alarm.
