Stay away from vices, concentrate on your studies -IMAPoly advises students

Isa Mustapha Agwai l Polytechnic, Lafia, has advised students of the institution to stay away from social vices and activities capable of constituting nuisance in their academic life.
Mukhtar Wakeel, Director, Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, gave the advice when he received in audience the President and members of the institution’s Students Union Government on a courtesy call.
Wakeel said to succeed, students should be focused and determined to study hard in order to excel in their educational pursuits.
He said the Polytechnic stands to reach its crescendo under its current leadership, encouraging them to sustain the support they have been giving to the Polytechnic at all times.
He added that measures for crisis management have been put in place by the institution, urging them to report every case of nefarious activities to the appropriate authorities for swift action.
He said the institution has recently established career development centre to provide career support to its students to make them vibrant and successful professionals in their chosen fields of study.
He enjoined them to prioritise their future development by staying away from examination malpractice, unrest, drug abuse, indecent dressing and cyber fraud as the institution is merciless to crimes.
Earlier, President of the institution’s Students Union Government, Comrade Jacob Mutuwa, congratulated him on his appointment to pioneer the public relations directorate as its head, promising to accord all-time support to the management for effective service delivery.
Comrade Mutuwa appreciated the Acting Rector, Doctor Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata for putting strategic plans in place to rejig the institution for the better.
