Secretary-general, Association of African Universities (AAU) Felicitates With FUNAAB VC On His Appointment

….Says He’s A Round Peg In A Round Hole
The highly focused and impacting Secretary – General of Association of African Universities (AAU) and former Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof.Olusola Oyewole has felicitated with the substantive Vice -Chancellor of the institution, Prof.Olusola Babatunde Kehinde on his appointment, describing it as well deserved and expressing implicit confidence in his ability to take FUNAAB to greater height.
Prof.Oyewole who is a renowned advocate of quality assurance, especially in the Ivory Towers spoke during his Courtesy Visit to the Vice – Chancellor in his office.
Radiating carriage and composure, the AAU scribe used the opportunity to felicitate with the Vice-Chancellor on his appointment, declaring that Professor KEHINDE was adequately prepared for the tasks ahead, putting into consideration his track records within and outside the University
The AAU Scribe said he was exploring ways by which Nigerian Universities could derive more benefits from the Association in research funding, charging researchers on the urgent need to ” talk to each other “, in order to make Universities in the continent an embodiment of hub of developmental research.
He added that AAU was looking into the possibility of extending its “Associate ” status to Non- teaching, assuring that International Conferences and Workshops would be organized for them too, in order to enhance service delivery.


Welcoming the AAU Secretary General to his office earlier, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Babatunde Kehinde who received his guest with infectious enthusiasm described the visit as homecoming for Professor Oyewole.
He expressed his appreciation,declaring that Prof.Oyewole has represented FUNAAB well at the AAU.
He however enjoined him to ensure that Nigerian Universities in general and FUNAAB in particular have a lot of benefits during his tenure as AAU Scribe.
