Rector Fedpoly Damaturu urges PARTICIPANTS of NBTE workshop on ODFel to carry down message to grassroot

The Rector Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Dr. Ibrahim Bashir Bello has urged the participants of a one day workshop on ODFel to carry message to grassroot.

Dr. Bashir made this known while making an opening address at a workshop organized by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)in collaboration with Commonwealth of learning ( COL) on implemention of Open Distance and Flexible e-learning (ODFeL) standards and accreditation tools for programmes and trainers for Mai Idiriss Aloma Polytechnic Geidam hosted by the Federal Polytechnic Damaturu.

The Rector represented by the Director Open Distance and Flexible e-learning (ODFeL)Dr. Muhammad Abubakar Shuwama pointed out that the sensitisation workshop which aimed at educating the lecturers to aquire skill by stepping it down to the Staff who are the trainers of the other staff and Students.

He stressed that as ODFeL standards need skill, therefore without a step down of what acquired will create a skill gap.

The Rector therefore, commended the NBTE under purposeful leadership of Professor Idiriss Bugaje for fulfilling it mandate on ODFel and doing it best possible for the programme to be embraced nationwide.

In his welcome address, the Rector Mai Idiriss Aloma Polytechnic Geidam, Dr. Wakil Gana Kafiya appreciates the NBTE for given a recognition to the Polytechnic for the concern it shows and readiness on ODFel implemention.

He pointed out that, the workshop is timely as the programme has crossed the boarder as the institution has students from neighbouring Niger republic.

Dr.kafiya, in this regard commended the management and staff of the institution for the success recorded on ODFeL implementation most particularly the Director Musa Ahmed Bara for his commitment toward the programme.
