The aim of the programme is to produce graduates who should be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of Insurance operations of different types of Insurance business, assist in the collection and integration of basis insurance data for use in making investment decisions, transmit a body of knowledge and a command of adequate technical business skills, techniques and also learn how to communicate successfully with others
Approved entry requirement for admission into Insurance Department
Prospective applicant seeking admission in the department must have minimum of five “O” level credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and any other two from the following subjects:
- Insurance
- Financial Accounting / Bookkeeping
- Biology / Agricultural Science
- Geography
- Government / Civic Education
- Office practice
- Marketing
- Business Method
- Economics
- Commerce
The results of the following examination bodies are acceptable
- WAEC
- NECO
- NABTEB
Where can graduates of Insurance work in Nigeria?
ND/HND Graduates in insurance can work in insurance companies, Retail banks and supermarkets, insurance Brokers, commercial banks, Specialist consultancies etc.
