NOTSUP: A NEW UNION FOR NON-TEACHING STAFF EMERGES IN YABATECH

The Non-Teaching Staff Union of Polytechnics (NOTSUP), an institution based Trade Union for non teaching staff of Polytechnics Monotechnics and Colleges of Technology has birthed in the College
According to the General Secretary of Yabatech Chapter of the new union, Comrade Mathew Ekong, NOTSUP was established to represent non teaching staff in the polytechnic sector.
“NOTSUP didn’t splits out from any Union. NOTSUP is not formed by Federal Government or politicians. NOTSUP is not a tool of divide and rule and it is not bent to destabilize any Union” he said.
“NOTSUP is meant to bargain and negotiate for the labour rights and welfare of non-teaching staff, and development of polytechnic institutions”, he added.
The emergence of the Non-Teaching Staff Union of Polytechnic brings to four the number of staff unions in the college.
NOTSUP Yabatech Chapter is led by Comrade Sanusi Adebayo as Chairman. Other members of the executive are:
1. Com. Akinyemi Bayo- Vice Chairman
2. Com. Mathew Ekong- General Secretary
3. Com. Kingsley Nwokoro Welfare Secretary
4. Com. Ekachukwu Ekene Assistant Secretary
5. Com Ojo Titilayo- Treasurer
6. Com. Abdulsalam Titilope- Fin Secretary
7. Comrade Simeon – Pub Rel. Officer
