NIPOSSGA: FEDPOFFA Management Awards Athletes, Commends Sports Committee

Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa led by Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi has celebrated the staff of the Polytechnic who participated in different sports categories at the 20th NBTE/NIPOSSGA in Ogwashi-uku, Delta State.

The Fedpoffa team were received on Monday 12th December 2022 after emerging as the winner in a football competition against Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, and winning medals as runner-up in other games.

The acting Rector, Dr. Olarongbe in his reaction commended the sports committee, and the entire team collectively for making the Polytechnic proud.

According to him “I commend you collectively for what you have done in the area of sport for the Polytechnic.”

“For what you have done in the last game, we decided to honor and appreciate you.

“You have written the name of the Polytechnic in a diamond. We acknowledge the excellent feats of defeating giant Yaba Tech in football.

Also speaking, the Chairman sports committee, Engr. Dr. Waheed Balogun appreciated the management  for the outstanding reception of the team.

He also commended the athletes for defeating many giant polytechnics in different games.

He said, ” I appreciate these athletes for what they did at OGWASHI, Delta State. We are the runner-up in volleyball and we came second in the senior category of lawn tennis. In football, we are number one. I commend everyone for the giant strides.”

The Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Soko congratulated the team for winning the trophy for the Polytechnic and charged the athletes not to relent as sport is of great advantage to the health system.

While the Chief coach, Onijala reiterated that the Polytechnic is the first to be reckoned with anywhere in Nigeria in sports. He thanked the Management for honoring the team with a certificate and cash reward which he said will motivate the athletes to do more.
