NDDC Announces Local Post-Graduate Scholarships for 2025/2026 Session

Applications Open for Indigenes of the Niger Delta Region
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has officially announced the commencement of its Local Post-Graduate (Master’s Degree) Scholarship Programme for the 2025/2026 academic year. The initiative is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to boost human resource development across the Niger Delta region.
Aimed at equipping young professionals with vital training and skills, the scholarship supports graduates pursuing Master’s degrees in Nigerian universities. The scheme also promotes academic excellence and the development of professional competencies in key sectors.
Eligible Fields of Study
Applicants are invited from the following disciplines:
- Agricultural Sciences
- Architecture
- Engineering
- Environmental Sciences
- Geosciences
- Humanities
- Information Technology
- Law
- Management & Social Sciences
- Medical Sciences
Who Can Apply?
To qualify, candidates must:
- Be indigenes of the Niger Delta region.
- Be under 40 years of age.
- Possess a minimum of a Second Class Lower division in a Bachelor’s degree, or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with an Upper Credit, along with a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD).
How to Apply
Applicants must submit their applications online via the NDDC website at www.nddc.gov.ng. Required documents include:
- A recent passport photograph
- Local Government identification letter
- Post-graduate admission letter from a recognized Nigerian university
- Degree certificates
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
Upon successful submission, a registration number will be generated. Applicants are encouraged to save or print a hard copy for their records.
Selection Process
The selection involves several stages:
- Initial Shortlisting based on academic performance.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT) for shortlisted candidates.
- Further Screening based on CBT scores and oral interviews.
- Final Verification through Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Community Development Committees (CDCs).
Deadline
The deadline for application submission is July 20, 2025.
Important Notes
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
- The NDDC will not accept any form of lobbying or recommendation.
- Preference will be given to candidates from oil-producing communities within the Niger Delta.
- The Commission reserves the right to make final selections based on merit and spread across the states.
