NAPS condemns Sokoto student killing, says act barbaric, brutal
A student-based Association of all the Polytechnic Students in Nigeria has condemned the killing of Deborah Samuel, describing it as barbaric and brutal.
Samuel was a Christian 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto, who was killed for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Muhammad.
Comr Asiegbu Kingsley Chinonso, who addressed journalists after the meeting, called for the arrest of the perpetrators, while urging security agents to carry out investigation towards forestalling its reoccurrence.
Asiegbu said, “The National Leadership of NAPS condemns in the strongest terms this unwarranted jungle justice meted out to her by taking the laws into their hands.
“In this regard, we commend all the Students Associations and individuals (both Christians and Muslims) for coming out to condemn the acts and calling on the government to bring the perpetrators to book. We call on both the Federal and Sokoto State government to rise up to the occasion as the world is watching.
