MLSCN Inducts Fresh COHESTI Medical Laboratory Technician Graduates

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) has inducted fresh graduates of the Medical Laboratory Sciences department of the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero, as full-fledged medical laboratory technicians.
During the ceremony, the representative of the College’s Acting Provost, Dr. Abiodun Dada, congratulated the inductees on reaching a milestone in their journey and urged them to be good ambassadors of the Council and the College.
The Acting Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), Dr. Donald Offili, represented by Mr. Humphrey Elendu, stated that the Council’s aim is to determine and regulate the standards of knowledge and skills for medical laboratory scientists, technicians, and assistants in Nigeria. He implored the inductees to remain focused, consistent, compassionate, and dynamic in building their careers. Mr. Elendu noted that the Council has put in place activities to help them attain their goals.
The Chairman of the ceremony and Assistant Director of Medical Laboratory Science at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti, MLS. Ojo Bola Oluwatosin, described the induction ceremony as a testament to the inductees’ hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. He expressed pride in having them in the noble profession and encouraged them to contribute to healthcare delivery in line with the President’s agenda. Mr. Ojo thanked the MLSCN Acting Registrar, Dr. Offili, for the Council’s progress, as well as lecturers and parents for their support.
The Guest Lecturer, Olaoluwa Adesanoye advised the graduands to avoid medico-legal issues and remain committed in their duties. The class governor of the graduands congratulated the Council, the College management, the Dean, the HOD, colleagues, and well-wishers.
The programme, held at the College’s Hon. Wumi Ogunlola hall, featured oath-taking and the presentation of gifts.
