A team of academic staff has executed a renewable energy intervention project under the community development platform of the institution for the use of staff of the Faculty of Engineering.
The project tagged “Renewable Energy Intervention for KWASU Community” included the installation of a renewable energy system to provide uninterrupted power supply to the faculty staff common room and the relaxation room.
The aim was to create space for research activities, relaxation, and informal meetings and discussions without fear of disruption to energy supply.
While declaring the facility open for use on Thursday November2, 2023, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh commended the 30-person team that conceptualized and executed the initiative stressing that all staff of the University should think up ways to improve not just their society but even their work spaces.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor who noted that the initiative would help staff be more productive added that the relaxation room which was yet to be furnished would be equipped by the University.
He also pledged to replicate the facility in all the other faculties as a way to create alternative and relaxing spaces for staff of the institution.
The project coordinator, Dr. Samson Odeyemi had earlier described the project as underscoring the commitment and determination of the team to make a positive impact on the academic community.
