Kano Poly Re-Introduced Summer Examination to Boost Students Academic Performance – Mgt.

In its commitment to mitigate the financial burden on parents and guardians, and further allow students to graduate in good time, the Polytechnic Academic Board (PAB) at its meeting held on Monday 9th October, 2023 approved the reintroduction of the Summer Examination with immediate effect.
This followed a formal request made by the Central Students Union Government(CSUG) for the restoration of the summer examination at the end of each academic session to provide an opportunity for the students to improve their academic performance and also to clear their deficiencies at a lesser cost.
The Board directed the PAB-BC committee to come up with the modalities, terms, and conditions for the exercise.
Other resolutions reached at the end of the PAB meeting include:
1. Approved the transfer of all academic and administrative activities of KIIT, Kura to the Gwamai new campus
2. Approval for an affiliation from Katsina Community College of Advanced Studies with KSP in the following programs:
a. Diploma Library Science
b. Diploma Public Administration
c. Diploma & Higher Diploma Social Administration
3. Applicants’ screening should be after the Admission of the candidates.
4. All HOD Positions will now be contested from November, 2023
5. Approved an adjustment on the Academic Calendar for the moderation exercise only from the 23rd – 30th of October 2023 to the 1st – 8th of November, 2023.
6. The Board also adopted the Admission Committee’s Report on the 2022/2023 academic session.
