IMT Enugu in Shock as Student Leader Odo Jeremiah Leaves Heartbreaking Final Note Before Death

IMT Enugu is in mourning following the death of its former Minister of Information, Odo Jeremiah Ifeomichukwu. The young leader, admired by peers for his dedication and service, left behind a handwritten note before his passing that has since gone viral — sparking deep conversations about mental health among Nigerian students.
In the emotional letter dated March 2025 and titled “Depression – 2025,” Jeremiah poured out his struggles with what he described as unbearable pain and hopelessness. He wrote:
“I never knew that this ‘depression’ was a thing I could ever have an experience of… March 2025 was a complete mess. The moment I concluded that my existence here on earth was futile… I concluded that I must exit and give space for those who had beautiful life to journey on.”
Jeremiah revealed months of silent suffering, describing both physical and emotional torment. His note hinted at untreated injuries, refusal to seek help, and a lingering sense of being a burden.
Friends and students across Nigeria have flooded social media with messages of sorrow and tributes to a man many saw as a bright and passionate leader.
Mental health advocates are urging institutions to prioritize psychological support systems for students, emphasizing that Jeremiah’s story reflects a broader issue affecting youth across the country.
May his soul rest in peace.
