How to Keep Your Relationship Private in 10 Ways

If you want to build a healthy relationship, you must learn to keep it private, especially if the relationship is still new because privacy is the key to a long-lasting relationship that will lead to marriage.

In my previous article, we discussed the reasons why it is important for lovers in relationships to keep their relationship private, and in this post, we shall highlight ways through which you can keep your relationship private.

1. Take Things Slow.

If the relationship is still fresh, then you need to take things slow. Do not rush to introduce them to your family and friends or flaunt them on social media. Make sure you build mutual love, trust, and understanding, which are the most important things in a relationship, before you introduce them to your family and friends.

 2. Avoid Updating Your Relationship Status on Social Media.

I understand you may be tempted to flaunt your relationship online, especially when you see your friends posting their boyfriends or girlfriends with romantic captions. While this is an exciting way to show affection and love to your spouse, you must know when to post on social media.

Avoid sharing everything going on in your relationship on social media. For instance, if you had dinner with your partner, it is not compulsory to post them online. This is to avoid creating jealousy and inviting criticism that may harm your relationship.

By keeping your relationship private on social media, it will be difficult for anyone to come in between you and your significant other. Besides, how will they concentrate on you when they simply don’t know what is going on in your life?

3. Discuss with Your Partner Your Wants.

 4. Limit the Public Show of Affection.

Holding hands in public is okay, especially when you are seeing them off in the street; however, if you want to keep your relationship private, learn to limit your public show of affection.

Perhaps you can do whatever you want indoors or when on a date, but limit the public display of affection; this will prevent others from focusing on your relationship.

 5. Avoid Telling Your Friends About Your Relationship.

Set a clear boundary between your relationship and friendships. Do not discuss your relationship weaknesses and strengths with your friends, no matter how much you trust them. If your boyfriend bought a new phone for you, there is no need to advertise it to your friends. There is no need to tell your friends how good your girlfriend is in bed. By keeping your relationship private, you are saving it from any instrument that may destroy it.

Another way of keeping your relationship private is to settle every fight and misunderstanding among yourselves. No matter what, do not bring a third party, whether they’re your family or friends, to beg your significant other on your behalf. They will make things more complicated.
