GIVE US MORE TIME – OSUN GOVERNMENT APPEALS TO STUDENTS

The Osun state government has appealed to Students of Osun state college of Education, Osun state Polytechnic and Osun state university for more time to fix bad roads across state owned tertiary institutions in the state and also urged students leaders to give them 7days to fix all the pressing issues brought before them.
This is coming as the National Association of Nigerian students (NANS) Osun state axis held a meeting with the Osun-State Government representatives at Osun State College of Education Ilesha, the meeting had in attendance, Chairmen Governing council, Head of tertiary institutions, the Commissioner for Education, the Commissioner for works, and the SSA to Governor on Students matters.
The student leaders during the meeting expressed dissatisfaction over the deplorable state of the campus roads network rehabilitation.
The NANS Osun Chairman During the meeting with authorities made the position of Entire Students union leaders known to the Government representatives, where he cried aim speedy execution of Campus roads network rehabilitation, as the Only panacea to their loggerheads with the Osun State government.

The Osun State Government representatives pleaded that the leadership of NANS Should give them the grace of 7 working days considering the processes involved in road rehabilitation.
The following resolutions was reached after the meeting:
1. That the proposed protest in respect of the road constructions in tertiary institutions be suspended except the reached agreement is breached.
2. That the state government will commence intervention on the roads project within seven working days.
3. That the Ministry of Education, Works, and the Institution Governing councils will constitute a committee with student representatives to kickstart and monitor the process of road rehabilitation.
While addressing pressmen after the meeting, NANS chairman Osun Axis, Comrade Afeez Oyelawo said the earlier proposed protest has been suspended till further notice to give room for the state government to address their demands.
