FEDPOLY UKANA: Dr Uduak Ukekpe bags Rector of the Year 2023 Award

The name of Federal Polytechnic, Ukana in Akwa Ibom State resonated last weekend at the prestigious College Hall of Nigeria’s premier tertiary institution, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State when Afrikanwatch Network Communications inducted Dr. Uduak S.Ukekpe, Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ukana into the African Legendary Hall of Fame(ALHF).
The event which commemorated the 10th of Afrikanwatch attracted scholars, Captains of industries and politicians.
Presenting a lecture on the theme of the anniversary,” Arise O’ Compatriots: Together we build one Nation” Professor Tunde Babawale decried the lack of national identity occasioned by distortions in the Nigerian federal structure. He called for the emergence of a peopled centered constitution.
Highpoint of the ceremony witnessed the presentation of the African Gold Merit Award) Personality and Rector of the Year 2023 by Senator Anthony Adefuye to the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ukana,Dr. Ukekpe.
According to Senator Adefuye, “nominating a genius with topnotch pedigree for the African Legendary Hall of Fame (ALHF), the highest honour in Afrikanwatch Network Communications comes with a rigorous process with consultations. And so, Dr. Uduak Sunday Ukekpe’s nomination into this category of award centered on his character, capacity, leadership, academic, administrative excellence, and transformation of the institution under his watch into a conducive atmosphere for learning ” he stressed.
Responding, Dr. Ukekpe said he was humbled by the honour and dedicated his success in office to God. He said the honour will motivate him and his management team to work even more harder to make Federal Polytechnic Ukana one of the most sought after institutions in the country.
